This week we are delighted to announced our first speakers at our 2025 Upside US Sports Tech Summit in Miami. We have a lot more speakers (teams, leagues, vendors, VCs, team owners, athletes) across various leagues (NBA, NFL, MLS, MLB, NCAA, pro tennis..) to be announced.
New speakers:
Hampus Frisén is the Head of Investments at Sport Republic, a sports investment firm known for owning football clubs like Southampton FC, Göztepe SK, and Valenciennes FC. With a background in finance and technology investing, Frisén previously worked at the Northern European growth equity technology fund Verdane Capital, focusing on software investments, having started his career as an investment banker at Rothschild & Co. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics. In his role at Sport Republic, Frisén oversees the group's football club investment strategy as well as its sports technology investment arm, leveraging his experience and expertise to drive innovation in the sports investments.
Myles Grote is a Partner at Elevate Ventures, where he oversees the Investment Team and Chairs the Investment Committee. An Indianapolis native and alumnus of the IU Kelley School of Business, Grote has over 17 years of experience building and investing in technology companies, with a particular focus on SportsTech. He co-founded Upper Hand, the first cloud-based solution designed to digitize youth sports facilities, revolutionizing operations for sports organizations. Grote is also a member of the advisory board for SportsTech HQ, a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at positioning Indianapolis as the SportsTech Capital of the World. Previously, he served as Head of Portfolio Success at High Alpha Innovation and founded Omnidollar, Indiana's first global syndicate for early-stage investing and advising. In addition, he has spent four years as an Entrepreneur in Residence and mentor at one of the most successful Techstars programs globally. Outside of his professional endeavors, Grote enjoys spending time with his family, watching Indianapolis sports, and running.
