New speakers:
Dr. Zacharias Papadakis, PhD, FACSM is Associate Professor of Exercise Physiology & Wellness and Director of the Human Performance Laboratory at Barry University, where his interdisciplinary, translational program probes how continuous moderate- and high-intensity exercise, sleep, nutrition, and psychological or pharmacological stimuli shape cardiometabolic health through the lens of Network Physiology of Exercise and Lifestyle Medicine. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed studies with NCAA teams on workload analytics, mental-health metrics, injury-risk modeling, and performance optimization, while his laboratory is validating next-generation wearables and biosensors such as for Fibion SENS, Curia Biometrics, and ZenBud. Pursuing funding that bridges athlete performance and long-term health, Dr. Papadakis is investigating cardio-kidney-metabolic syndrome mechanisms and developing AI-driven models for early hypertension prediction, positioning him at the nexus of collegiate sport science, emerging technology, and next-gen biomarker discovery.
Dr. Stefan Valdes is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Board-Certified Sports Specialist (SCS), and Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (CSCS). A Miami native, he founded Movement Lab in 2019 to bridge the gap between rehab and performance. Dr. Stefan specializes in sports and orthopedic rehab, bringing experience from the collegiate level, private sector, and the NBA, where he previously served as a hybrid Physical Therapist and Strength Coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons. Today, he works with NBA, NFL, and other pro athletes during their off-season programs and consults with athletes and teams throughout the year. Through his partnership with Total Performance, Dr. Stefan utilizes cutting-edge Ultrasound Tissue Characterization (UTC) technology to monitor tendon health, helping prevent tendinopathy and guide recovery of those already dealing with it. His approach blends evidence-based physical therapy with elite performance training to help athletes not just recover β but perform at their highest level.
