This week we are delighted to announced our new speakers at our 2025 Upside US Sports Tech Summit in Sunrise, FL We have a lot more speakers (teams, leagues, vendors, VCs, team owners, athletes) across various leagues (NBA, NFL, MLS, MLB, NCAA, pro tennis..) to be announced.
New speakers:
Shavini Fernando is the CEO and founder of OxiWear, a company focused on creating innovative health technology solutions. OxiWear is known for its wearable devices designed to monitor blood oxygen levels in real time, providing critical health data to individuals with respiratory conditions like asthma and COPD. Under Shavini's leadership, the company aims to revolutionize the way patients manage their health through continuous, non-invasive monitoring. Shavini Fernando is a passionate advocate for using technology to improve healthcare outcomes and enhance the quality of life for patients worldwide.
Rico Rogers is a former professional cyclist who gained valuable insights into altitude training while training in the French Alps. Upon returning to Melbourne, he found existing altitude systems cumbersome and sought to create a more user-friendly solution, leading to the founding of Box Altitude. This innovative company offers high-tech altitude sleeping systems that enhance performance and seamlessly integrate into daily life, making the benefits of altitude training accessible to both elite athletes and everyday individuals. With a firm belief that their technology will be key to breaking world recordsβevidenced by several performances already linked to their systemsβRico continues to advocate for solutions that elevate performance and overall well-being.
Dr. Bill Burgos is the CEO of LONU a next generation AI based nutrition platform. He is also a highly accomplished strength and conditioning expert with extensive experience in the NBA, having served as the Head of Strength and Conditioning for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, and New York Knicks. He holds two Master of Science degrees in Exercise Science and Human Movement, as well as a Doctorate in Leadership and Organizational Behavior. Dr. Burgos has been actively involved in sports science, serving on the Jr. NBA Leadership Council, the NBA Sports Science Committee, and the NBA Gatorade Advisory Council, and was President of the National Basketball Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association from 2015-2018. A veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force with 13 years of service, he has multiple professional certifications, including CSCS, RSCC, and FMS. Dr. Burgos currently serves on the Booz Allen Tactical Leadership Board and resides in Lake Nona, Florida, with his wife, Noemi.
