This week we are delighted to announced our new speakers at our 2024 Upside European Sports Tech Summit in Paris. We have a lot more speakers (teams, leagues, vendors, VCs, team owners, athletes) across various leagues (Laliga, Premier League, Ligue 1, Calcio, Bundesliga, national rugby teams, pro tennis..) to be announced.
New speakers:
Mathieu Lacome is the Chief Performance and Analytics officer at Parma Calcio 1913. He is currently leading a multidisciplinary team encompassing sports scientists, match analysts, strength and conditioning coaches and data scientists that, together, aim at providing the best evidence-based and data-informed support to decision makers. Previously, he worked 6 years in Paris Saint-Germain notably as head of research and innovation. Throughout his career, Mathieu improved his football intelligence acumen, leveraging his human performance knowledge, data science interest and passion for communication with data and innovation. Mathieu still enjoys collaborating on research projects and published more than 35 peer-reviewed papers.
Gustavo Arellano is the current head of Commercial development at FIBA. He is a Chemical Engineer with an MBA from Venezuela, who has extensive commercial experience in marketing outside of the sports industry. He completed a Master's Degree in Sports Administration and Technology in Switzerland in 2015. He successfully built the FIBA Market Intelligence and Research Program, supported the implementation of a new competition system for National Federation teams worldwide, and managed the global sponsorship program for the FIBA China Basketball World Cup 2019. Currently, he is responsible for the commercial development of the FIBA family with a focus on the sustainable growth of basketball around the world. Recently, he established partnerships with Twitch, Synergy Sports, and ESL Facit Group (EFG) for the development of eFIBA. He also founded a sports thinking group in Lausanne and works as an ad honorem commercial advisor for Special Olympics.
André Cunha is the CEO & Head of Performance of VOLT SPORTSCIENCE. and co-founder of 4PERFORM in Brazil. Andre is also the former performance manager for Brazilian national soccer player and Arsenal fc striker Gabriel Jesus, where he managed his day by day completely integrated with Arsenal to optimize health and performance from 2018 to 2022. Andre also worked as the Head of performance for Estoril Praia in 2016 and he is also worked as a Strength and conditioning coach for Thomaz Bellucci, a professional brazilian tennis player from 2012 to 2016.
Jo Clubb is a Sports Science Consultant at Global Performance Insights. She previously worked for a number of teams such as the Bills (NFL), Buffalo Sabres (NHL), Brighton (Premier League), and Chelsea fc (Premier League),
Martin Jaglin is the Digital Growth Director at the LFP (Ligue de Football Professionnel). Martin is also the co-founder of MPG - MonPetitGazon, one of Europe's largest fantasy games, recently acquired by LFP, where he’s now in charge of Digital Growth, solidifying Martin's reputation as an influential figure in the French Tech industry. Martin is a Tech expert with over 20 years of experience. He holds degrees from Dauphine and Sorbonne Universities in Paris and his career has spanned various leadership roles in the digital industry (CEO of a Mobile App Agency, Executive Committee member of a 400-person Digital Agency (quoted), Head of Data/CRM at Publicis Paris….). Martin is also the author of the book "The Ten Commandments of Interactive Marketing". He is a co-founder of MPG,.
